【SDGs】ため池をいかして農業と発電に一石二鳥（2023/9/23）
ため池を活用して発電事業を行っている谷口直樹さん。
きっかけは、東日本大震災時、会社のある埼玉県嵐山町が電力制限区域になり、環境に配慮したエネルギーを自社で創出することが必要だと考えたことから。
現在は、各地のため池などを活用し、年間約8500世帯分の電力を供給している。今後は、日本全国の約20万カ所のため池を活用することが、地域と環境との共生を図る選択肢と捉え、社会に広めたいと語る谷口さんの思い描く未来とは？
Mr. Naoki Taniguchi puts agricultural reservoirs to work in producing energy. After the Great East Japan Earthquake, the use of electricity was restricted in Ranzan-machi, Saitama Prefecture, where the company is located, and Mr. Taniguchi decided that the company needed to produce its own environmentally friendly energy. The company currently utilizes reservoirs in various regions to supply electricity for about 8,500 households annually. In the future, Mr. Taniguchi hopes to promote the use of water-based solar power generation using the approximately 200,000 reservoirs throughout Japan as an option for local communities to coexist with the environment. What is his vision of the future?
