【SDGs】折れた剣は選手の思いとともに生まれ変わる（2023/1/28）
フェンシングの折れてしまった剣をアップサイクルする「折れ剣再生プロジェクト」を発足した見延和靖さん。
3カ月から半年使うと折れてしまう剣。
今までは産業廃棄物として廃棄していましたが、もったいないという長年の思いが募り、出身地である福井・越前市の刃物産業の方々の協力を得て、まずは包丁やメダルにアップサイクルすることに。
地元へ恩返しすると共に日本全国の職人技を世界に伝えたいと語る見延さんの思い描く未来とは？
Mr. Kazuyasu Minobe started the ‘Broken sword reuse project’, which up-cycles broken fencing swords. These swords normally break after three to six months of use. Until now, they had been disposed of as industrial waste. For many years, he had thought that was a shame. With the cooperation of knife makers from his hometown of Echizen, Fukui, they started upcycling broken swords into knives and medals. Giving back to his hometown and promoting the skills of Japanese craftsmen to the world; what kind of future does Mr. Minobe envision?
