Ms. Saki Yoshikawa upcycles the 200 flags that adorned the Tokyo Marathon course into bags and other things after the race. The construction and sewing are done by people with disabilities; which provides employment opportunities and support for them. Furthermore, new value has been created in the discarded flags by donating a portion of the profits to a social welfare organization. Ms. Yoshikawa hopes that the upcycled bags will make the participants continue to think about the event and develop an interest in global environmental issues. What kind of future does she envision?
