【SDGs】島の課題をメリットに変換 持続可能な未来を作る（2023/10/7）

島の耕作放棄地を開墾し、化粧品の原材料を栽培し、企業へと販売している三田かおりさん。
きっかけは、化粧品メーカー勤務時に、化粧品の原料となる素材を探すために唐津の島々を訪れた際、人口減少などさまざまな地域課題を抱えていることを知り、これらをビジネスで解決できないか、と考えたことから。
過疎化する地域を元通りに再生するのではなく、自然との新しい共生の仕方を再構築していきたいと語る三田さんの思い描く未来とは？

Ms. Kaori Mita cultivates abandoned farmland on a remote island, making raw materials for cosmetics, and selling them to companies. It all started when she visited the islands of Karatsu to look for raw materials for cosmetics while working for a cosmetics manufacturer. She learned that there were various regional issues such as population decline, and wondered if she could solve these issues through business. Ms. Mita says she doesn’t want to just make the islands what they were, but rather to build a new way of coexisting with nature, rather than revitalize the depopulated area. What kind of future does she envision?
