Open the map in arcgis

Select styles in the righthand tab list (second option). Click style options.
In the Field dropdown, select Landcover.
Click on Sparsely or Non-vegetated and change the fill color to something bright (I’m using red). Hit done twice.
Zoom into your region of interest and it should be much easier to see now.
